Where do I find my model number?
- Case back:the most common place. Look for a reference such as “SRPD55”, often with a calibre or module code (for example “4R36” or “3459”) and a serial number. Some brands put the reference between the lugs, under the strap.
- Dial:usually shows the brand and collection name (such as “Eco-Drive” or “Automatic”) rather than the full reference, but it can narrow the search. Some show a short calibre code near 6 o'clock.
- Paperwork: the warranty card, guarantee or purchase receipt normally lists the full reference and sometimes the calibre.
- Original packaging: the box or swing tag often carries a label with the reference number and a barcode.
Model, calibre or module? The model or reference number identifies the watch you bought; the calibre (Citizen, Seiko and others) or module number (Casio and G-Shock) identifies the movement inside. One movement is often used across many models, so manuals are frequently listed by calibre or module number rather than by the retail model name. If a search by model name finds nothing, try the calibre or module number from the case back.
